BA (Hons) Textile Design
As a creative designer, I am enthused by the learning of multiple skills to create individualistic and contemporary designs for interiors. NUA has taught me the professional skills needed for the industry, informing my process and way of thinking. I’ve focused on gaining expert knowledge in material, colour and pattern, exploring traditional and digital techniques. My bespoke collections have been driven by individual personas to develop textiles that ignite depth, character and a sense of home. The research was developed within my dissertation, exploring various ways the home can be personalised using bespoke design.
Additionally, I’ve taught myself new technical tools that will continue to complement my interior design ideas, such as floor planning and 3D visualisations. I have learnt how to adapt in response to unique clientele and also that practicality, as well as the aesthetic, is just as important when designing for domestic interiors. This has evolved me as a designer.
