Mason Wright

BSc (Hons) Games Development

A game displaying a top-down grid of hexagonal tiles with buildings and units on top of it. Each object has a UI element above its head displaying its owner and health.

I am a Games Developer with experience working with Unreal Engine, using both C++ and Blueprints. I have experience working with team members from both my own discipline as well as with others such as art and design. My speciality is with 3D games and I have had a lot of experience working with AI, pathfinding and character movement, as well as doing a lot of work with procedural generation, randomness and user interfaces.

A two player, competitive game where one player is on keyboard controlling the pied piper spreading a plague and the other on controller controls a plague doctor curing it.

My education has also given me a lot of experience with source control programs such as GitHub, project management programs such as Trello as well as other skills such as debugging and working around a brief.

I play a variety of different game genres in my spare time (mostly on PC), from open world games such as God of War and Breath of the Wild to puzzle games like Baba is You, The Witness and many more genres as well.

This game features two slimes that the player can switch between and play as. One is small while the other is big and can pick up heavy objects.
A wave based, tower defence game staring children‚ toys and shadows, made for the NUA internal game jam 2021.
This gameplay slice uses seeded randomness alongside toggleable constraints to determine valid spawn locations for a number of resource deposits, and spawns them there.
