Matilda Brice

BA (Hons) Games Art and Design

A digital drawing of a pair of capybara sitting in a forest clearing, each chewing opposite ends of a vine to replicate the classic Lady and the Tramp spaghetti scene.

Hi! I’m Matilda, but you may know me as Ponyo, and I’m a recent graduate of BA Game Art & Design, where I specialised in concept art for games — a specialisation that led me into discovering game jams, the indie game development scene, my love for telling tiny stories, and drawing capybaras!

A drawing of a masked character in a black suit with a pattern of red flowers drawn to look as if they are growing up his trouser legs.

Throughout my degree — which I completed much of online due to Covid-19 — I’ve been in tons of online spaces that have had a heavy focus on games, which has really grown my passion for building and managing digital communities to create welcoming and fun spaces, for players and developers alike, to gather. From here I aspire to continue to work on my art as a freelance artist, and hope to advance into community management professionally, to work in a busy team following my quiet time at university.
