Matthew Dean
BA (Hons) Film and Moving Image Production
Film has always been a large part of my life. From a young age I was obsessed with them and as I’ve grown up, I’ve become more fascinated with them and how technical skills can create such effects of emotion and excitement. During school I discovered I was interested in creative industries, pursuing Fine Art to explore my interests in creativity. At university I studied Film and Moving Image Production which improved my knowledge of filmmaking.
During this time, I became drawn towards editing, especially in relation to slow-paced drama narratives, and in Year 3 I specialised in editing. I believe my work ethic and communicational skills are strong as I’m consistent with handing work in on time and staying on the same page as everyone. My creativity means I’m always eager to suggest my own ideas, while at the same time being able to listen to feedback and improve on what I’ve done. I find that I am a fast worker but also a perfectionist so therefore I will hand in quality work on time.
