Millie Gentry-Holmes

BA (Hons) Animation

A dark cold scene with a stop-motion animation puppet sitting by a dining table with and empty plate and cutlery.

I am a set and prop fabricator who specializes in stop-motion. With my work, I want to show a strong message as I’m influenced by real-life stories and how art can make social change.

I thrive from collaborating with other artists, such as my collaboration with a film student. This gave me new perspectives and ideas that I hadn’t considered before. This collaboration made me a strong communicator with sharing concepts and provided clarity to the Director.

My degree has made me delve into all skills set of stop-motion from the initial ideas to the final creations. My work become efficient with time management and organising. I am passionate about how props and sets can help enhance a story and create a physical world that you can interact with, and I think that’s something that needs to be treasured.
