Emma Bellerby

BA (Hons) Fine Art

A digital painting printed onto a tapestry, showing a desolate urban alleyway. Trash litters the space and radiant light emanates from the nearby buildings windows.

During university, my focus has been on representing internal identities with visual imagery, particularly with a focus on disabled and LGBT+ identities. These marginalised voices are often underrepresented in popular culture, and I want to contribute to the normalisation of these identities. I have achieved this through a combination of curating online exhibitions, exploring the history of marginalization with a view to intersectionality and completing commissions for clients.

All of this was achieved during the pandemic, resulting in my independent motivation skills, adaptability, and communication skills being thoroughly tested. I found that I excelled in project leadership roles, which was an unexpected development for me and I would relish the opportunity to explore this further.

A card game featuring images of spaces, abstract representations of body parts, and a series of environmentally focused questions.
