Robyn Powell
BA (Hons) Fine Art
Powell pulls on inspiration from the body, natural, the sublime. Her work has a feeling of something familiar, its kitsch and colourful, using natural interactive shapes and forms that allow people to think about how their body is used and how to interact with each individual piece. Play and interaction is deeply rooted within the creative practice of Robyn Powell. She intends to break the wall between the artwork and the viewer allowing people to touch, move and further the work to a never-ending final form.
Powell’s creative practice is full of playful sculptures and drawings that she intends the viewer to interact with and build upon. Play and curation run hand in hand within Powells practice. As well as creating playful pieces of work she curated a string of exhibitions titled Play With Me that explored interactive art work and play within gallery spaces.
