Rose Chilvers
BA (Hons) Design for Publishing
Throughout my degree I have explored different areas of publishing, from bookbinding to page design, using personal interests as a catalyst to explore how materials and processes can engage different types of audiences through print. With great consideration of the physicality of a publication, I combine physical experimentation and digital design in my process, utilising the materials around me to create narratives and tell stories.
I have a particular interest in physical craft, mark-making and materials, encouraging abstract ideation when interpreting a brief.
One of my proudest achievements was publishing issue 25 of Norwich University of the Arts student-run Storehouse Magazine.
As the design director, having previously been a designer on the editorial team, I was responsible for liaising with printers and creating the design guidelines. I demonstrated leadership skills, organisation and budget management.
