BA (Hons) Illustration
The relationship between text and image is the foundation to much of my work. I enjoy doing this through text analysis and editorial illustration – as well as through typography design, the integration of imagery and writing, and exploring the boundaries between the two.
I welcome the challenge of working to fast-paced briefs and taking a project from start to finish in a couple of days. My creative process has adapted and grown in response to this, developing techniques such as creating initial responses to briefs digitally to give myself the ability to quickly play around with shape and colour before creating a concrete response. I enjoy incorporating both traditional and digital elements in this way, retaining the texture and energy of painting, while going on to use programmes such as Photoshop and Illustrator to present my work on a digital platform.
