Samuel J Lloyd
BA (Hons) Film and Moving Image Production
I am a Film and Moving Image graduate specialised in post-production sound, having worked across a range of projects during my final year to develop my creativity, adaptability, and technical skillset.
Across the work I’ve created and collaborated on, I’ve found a particular passion for the ability of ambient sound to expand the narrative and emotional space of a story; my work draws from both film and video game horror, notably titles like the ‘Resident Evil’ series and early 2000s Japanese horror cinema such as ‘One Missed Call’ and ‘Dark Water’. From this, I’ve focused my specialism on aural storytelling and emotional evocation through environmental/atmospheric ambiences, which I’m hoping to develop through pursuing a career in audio post-production.
During my time at NUA I have developed strong communicative and teamworking skills whilst managing multiple directors and a large independent workload, in the future looking to hopefully work as a valuable team member of a post house.
