Shannon Knighton
BA (Hons) Photography
The work I create focuses on beauty and portrait photography. Throughout my years of studying alongside my past and current personal creations, I intend to portray and highlight the patterns that form within one’s identity, including constant movement with influence and the psychological reasoning behind it. It has become important for me to understand how influence has become a part of people’s everyday life. How it reflects on our appearance, eating routines, personal opinions and the ways of which it can affect us mentally, physically, and emotionally.
Black and white photography has always been a passion of mine, I find it helps to remove distraction of colour, to enhance the finer details. My most recent project has introduced a new angle of identity, using people as subjects, especially oneself to capture unique detail, how despite the battle with influence; we as beings are all unique.
