Shannon Stewart

BA (Hons) Illustration

BA Illustration work by Shannon Stewart showing a colourful animated poster of a mouth with tongue falling out, flags and colourful typography, promoting Glastonbury 2022.

As an illustrator, I am always trying to push my work’s visual language and engagement. My Illustration degree has further developed my decorative, colourful style. This fuels my creative career and allows me to adapt to different briefs and clients whilst keeping consistent.

My final project reflects my love of music. Creating promotional posters expressing Glastonbury’s psychedelic past and history has enabled me to push my developing practice further. I found the impact of surrealism on my work enabled me to create the balance between the realism of Glastonbury and the imagery that pushes this dreamlike fantasy that the festival fuels.

Studying at NUA has given me opportunities to further my transferrable skills in time management and critical thinking. I have developed excellent skills in software, such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and After Effects, which helps enhance my work.
