BA (Hons) Fine Art
I am a multidisciplinary artist. Emotions and the imagination are the main objective of my practice. My exploration into my own unconscious and current experiences influences the direction that my practice has taken. My practice is a combination of 2D and 3D dimensional experimental artwork that makes the viewer ask the questions ‘what is it, and what does it mean?’, provoking responses from the audience.
My emotions allow for themes to emerge within the work: they consist of loss, grief, and sadness. These emotions are universally known, which is why I create sculptures that allow observers to be sad, mourn without judgement and immerse themselves. I wanted to convey that it is important to express rather than suppress. Both the 2D and 3D dimensional works are created when I’m feeling sad or experiencing overwhelming emotions which is then expressed through art, making my practice my own form of art therapy.
