BA (Hons) Design for Publishing
I am a graphic designer who specialises in book and editorial design. In my current practice, I am creatively driven by emotive processes, and I have developed a keen interest in exploring the relationship between physical design choices and the reader’s cognitive experiences.
I was able to pursue this through ‘Life After Death’, a series of illustrated publications which reflect on personal experiences and connections to the afterlife by exploring the use of colour and typography. Similarly, the design choices for ‘Superesse’, a publication produced in collaboration with fellow Publishing students, was influenced, and restricted, to reflect British life in lockdown.
Alongside my individual practice, I have had the opportunity to be Co-Head of the Editorial Team at Storehouse Magazine. Through working on Issues 21 & 22, I have gained invaluable experiences and further developed my skill to, not only, work within a team of talented designers, but to also lead them.
