BA (Hons) Textile Design
Summer Dyball
I am a recent graduate of BA Textile Design. My degree has enabled me to improve my skills of design and creativity as I explored many varied projects, designing for contexts of both fashion and interior and working with different briefs. I have used my strong organisational and time management skills to complete my projects successfully, whilst learning new techniques and understanding the way in which to lead an independent project.
My FMP was inspired by nature; specifically, plants and flowers, deconstructing these to form playful, energetic designs. There are so many stresses throughout people’s daily lives, I wanted to help overcome this by creating designs that enhance a sense of well-being and positivity through textile design. I have quickly adapted to working within lockdown conditions, being able to work remotely and independently and stay motivated, optimistic and resilient. This has prepared me for working within design; having the skill to adapt to different conditions and successfully produce work.
