Thomas Mansbridge

BA (Hons) Animation

BA Animation by Thomas Mansbridge showing an image from the closing moments of his final film

I am a lifelong Animation enthusiast who was driven by his passion to apply for this Degree programme, having previously attained BA (Culture, Philosophy and Politics) and MA (Media and Cultural Politics) qualifications in more Academic fields, and following a decade of vocational experience in Administrative work. While honing my specialism in 3D Animation, I continued to be drawn to producing exaggerated works with appealingly simple characters.

I especially enjoyed generating ideas for these character, particularly short, sharp, and hopefully effective “gag” sequences. I also very much enjoyed researching and writing the various Research Assignments set over the course of this Degree, as it tied to my long lasting personal interest in researching the history of Animation and wider pop culture, and I am particularly proud of my final year dissertation.
