BA (Hons) Games Art and Design

Character illustration in the style of Rockstar Studio's RDR2. The male character is dressed in an Ottoman-style turban and fur-trimmed kaftan, holding a curved sabre on his shoulder.

The artworks pictured here are the showcase of my final year projects. My aim was to become more flexible with my style, adapting to different game studios as a form of practice. I also tried to balance written descriptions and artistic freedom in order to create accurate but creative designs.

Character sheet depicting a male character in Ottoman-style clothing, weaponry and mount, including description, base colours, and materials.

Though these artworks are not yet to be shared publicly, I also participated in a career experience hosted by the university in partnership with Odd Bug Studio. Initially, my role was only an art renderer and team leader, but to aid my teammates I jumped in to do some concept art as well due to time constraints.

Character sheet depicting a dragon from various views. It is pale with natural markings, large antlers and lacks eyes and forelegs. It has red wisteria sprouting from its body.

While I did participate in group works before when doing game jams, here I had the opportunity to create artwork in a professional context while being mentored by the studio. The experience helped to further develop my teamwork and time management skills, as well as providing a valuable opportunity to practice how to tailor my style to a game studio’s by considering any feedback received.

Character sheet depicting a humanoid creature. It's black with skulls fused together as its head, fiery eyes and chest, malleable limbs, and a lower body made of smoke.
Fantasy map illustration in the style of Supergiant's Hades. It mimics the look of an inked drawing on brown paper. Different areas are highlighted in colourful watercolour-like washes.
