Weewaawoowee is a moving image artist working with animation, video, and creative coding to explore the future of digital humanities. Their work is heavily influenced by postmodernist and transhumanist texts, however, this is counterbalanced with an adoration for the animated image, taking inspiration from various sources. Cross-disciplinary collaboration is at the core of everything that weewaawoowee does.
In 2022, they organised a student film festival that brought 24 artists from 9 different specialisms together to showcase their work alongside each other. Weewaawoowee believes that barriers between specialisms and industries should be dissolved, as the most interesting work is created when people collate all of their skills. Maybe one day, weewaawoowee and their community will be able to answer the fundamental question at the core of their practice: what is it to be human?
