BA (Hons) Illustration
Yasmine Gunton
The BA (Hons) Illustration course has given me the experience and tools needed for working and understanding the diverse topics that can be covered in producing illustration designs that can be used for a range of mediums. The course has challenged me to think creatively, opening the mind to a myriad of possibilities and having the conviction to put it on paper.
My designs are simple and minimalistic utilizing both traditional and digital methods of application. I rediscovered linocut printmaking for its bold graphic imagery which I utilized for the NUA collaboration project with the Broads Authority – Water, Mills and Marshes and for my final project entitled Vertical City: Hong Kong. My work is inspired by many things from nature and the patterns that it creates and our urban landscape exploring the geometric patterns each building and structure generates.
