Zak Dean

BA (Hons) Games Art and Design

BA Games Art and Design work from Zak Dean featuring a character wearing a green lab coat and spiked boots.

I am a BA Games Art & Design graduate. My focus whilst at university has been creating loud and vibrant characters inspired and influenced by titles such as Jet Set Radio and Borderlands with an emphasis on diversity and style. I love to create characters with unique stories and perspectives for which I am influenced by new music, clothing and cultures from around the world.

I enjoy collaborating with others and feeling a sense of kinship as we work towards a common goal. I had the opportunity to work on and lead a group games jam and thoroughly enjoyed discussing ideas with group members before implementing them into the project. My main interest is to create unique and stylised characters and creatures that belong to captivating and imaginative worlds that players can get immersed in. My favourite genres are fantasy and sci-fi and I thoroughly enjoy exploring them through my art.
