Emily Bradford
BA (Hons) Fine Art
Emily Bradford’s practice is sculpture based – surrounding the compositions of ambiguous shapes, creating impressions and enhancing interactions. There are two parts to her sculpture practice, one part consists of smaller works, made with plaster and cast in balloons. Intended to create bodily forms, Emily uses her body and the environment around her to create these impressions. Her larger works are life-size, intended to be characters and exist within a space.
Where Emily’s smaller sculptures are made from impressions and are more content, her larger works are more playful and made to be interacted with rather than just observed. Although common themes consist of abstraction, innocence, playfulness and the body, there is no definite definition when it comes to Emily’s work, and she invites you to explore your own connections to her sculptures.
