Imogen Allen

BA (Hons) Design for Publishing

Record sleeve design by Imogen Allen displaying abstract, typographic imagery.

I am a graphic designer specialising in editorial design and art direction. During my three years of study in Design for Publishing, I have developed strong composition, typesetting and image-making skills. I have a personal interest in making images which use a fine art-based process and enjoy experimenting with both digital methods and analogue methods of creating, this approach is highlighted within my Tarot Diary project.

In my second year of university, I joined Storehouse Magazine, the official magazine of the Norwich University of the Arts Students’ Union and later became its Head of Editorial Design for the 25th issue, Distortion and Lucidity. I continue my practice outside of designing for university briefs and have recently taken on the role of guest editor at Contrivance, a Norwich and Bournemouth-based art magazine.
