Oliver Adams

BA (Hons) Design for Publishing

Book, Layout, and Design project based on the Killdozer incident.

A visual designer whose creative work ethic/foundation lies upon bringing a brief to life within its defiantly aggressive limits using visual art, experimental graphics, typography, and creative imagery as a storyteller within my projects – as a means of creating the most vivid imagery-based answer to a problem which requires a vibrant and hyperbolised solution.

Concept first issue of a futuristic fashion magazine, surrounding the Mongolian athletic streetwear brand 'House of OD'

This was rooted in growing up on the internet, heavily indulging in the niche corners of visual/musical/fashion aesthetics and mirroring their influences/forerunners within my own creative process. My practice of imagery-based outcomes developed into a varied skillset of problem-solving, subject research, interpreting a brief, working under pressure and attention to detail.

The designing of a book cover/jacket for poetry book 'Slug... and other things I was told to hate' by Hollie McNish, which explores themes of feminism, death, and motherhood.

However, my Norwich University of the Arts projects like Killdozer and SPD helped develop my skills in creating a consistent theme/identity, and other projects such as Slug and FMP allowed for experimentalism through utilising unconventional grids and imagery creation methods.

A x5 poster series designed around the concept of creating editorial with an alternate layout method. In this instance, the mosaic structure of jpegged imagery.
