Katie Thompson

BA (Hons) Fashion Communication and Promotion

Coffee-table book mock-up by Katie Thompson showing editorial still-life jewellery imagery.

I’m a visual communicator specialising in fashion publications and branding that tap into the zeitgeist. I’m inspired by trend developments and industry insights, global issues, fashion history, travel and culture.

Guide mock-up by Katie Thompson showing written feature and travel imagery.

My final year project, creating and branding a luxury coffee table book and guide, explores the contemporary and historical relationship between Greece and fashion as part of a wider collection discovering different civilisations. Independently and collaboratively, I’ve honed my abilities in creating contemporary content, editorial design and creative direction.

Digital collage by Katie Thompson showing cut-outs of jewellery and models layered on landscape imagery.

I consider brand identity and consumer values in a 360-degree capacity, utilising my enthusiasm for research to produce thorough explorations of industry developments on attitudes to physical retail experiences and the relevance of fashion weeks. I create physical and digital collage to convey specific messages, different brand identities and feelings of escapism relating to fashion, culture and the current zeitgeist.
