Victoria Reeves
BA (Hons) Illustration
I am a multi-media illustrator with an interest in organic shapes and colour. My work explores a number of disciplines from traditional drawing, printmaking, and painting, to textiles, digital work, and animation.
During my time at Norwich University of the Arts, I have developed an active interest in storytelling and in capturing little slices of life within my work, that are true not only to my own experience but which also resonate with people from all walks of life. My work predominantly features themes of queer identity, of political and social histories, and of the natural world and our place within it.
My project “This Quiet Belonging” has been shortlisted for the Batsford Prize 2023; this project in particular has challenged my way of working and honed my skills in the areas of problem-solving, interpreting a brief, as well as my technical experience in constructing and visually resolving a narrative.
