Jess Wegg
BA (Hons) Illustration
Throughout my illustration degree, I have predominantly explored narrative and sequential illustration. Specifically, how this can be used to convey themes of personal and emotional connections to the environment and natural spaces.
Over the duration of the course, I have written and illustrated 3 original narratives exploring these themes, and hope that my work specifically centred around connection and landscape can encourage engagement with nature, as well as an appreciation for local biodiversity. My process combines traditional drawing and mark-making with texture, digital drawing, and digital layering.
I particularly enjoy the development stages when creating narrative based projects such as storyboarding and narrative development, and am keen to develop these skills through future projects. Working on multiple live briefs with external collaborators during the course has built my confidence in collaboration, in delivering a brief to a high standard and handling clients.
