BA (Hons) Textile Design
Being a student at Norwich University of the Arts has enabled me to explore textile design in depth whilst allowing me to develop my art in a way which can be created into a unique and sustainable fabric. University has taught me to be much more organised and considered within my designs. I have been using a mixture of collage, mark making and silkscreen and digital printing with bold colours coexisting with Nuno felting.
This has resulted in a very tactile, textured and colourful material. Natural fibres such as merino wool and plant fibres are prevalent in many of the materials I have produced. This degree course has been excellent in many ways, as it has allowed me to push the boundaries and experiment with different materials and techniques.
This has resulted in me exploring and mixing up various media. Research has played an essential role in the design process, especially the sustainability factor. These skills have had a highly significant effect on my work.
