Zel Hallam

BA (Hons) Games Art and Design

Key Art work by Zel Hallam, depicting a large fox-like monster looming behind a teenage girl, ready to attack with a makeshift skateboard sword.

As a Games Art and Design graduate, I have spent most of my time at Norwich University of the Arts refining my creative and technical skills. Whilst, also heavily focusing on academic work, educating myself further on topics of diversity and representation within video games and the industry.

This knowledge has profoundly influenced the work I create, as someone interested in character design and narrative-driven video games, and has inspired me to push harder to try and bring about more diversity into the gaming space through visual storytelling and specific design choices.

Throughout my time at Norwich, I have also learnt how to work in many different types of groups and have become more confident in fulfilling my role through engaging in live briefs, work experience, and group projects.

In addition, learning how to efficiently respond and act upon feedback delivered by both my peers and lecturers. Both of these skills I take pride in having improved upon, as I continue forward into starting freelance work.
