Chloe Chapman
BA (Hons) Fine Art
I am an emerging artist with an artistic practice that revolves around nature, I collect natural objects as sources of inspiration for my artwork. My use of traditional drawing, painting and printing techniques allows me to develop patterns and shapes drawn from nature, and I create ceramic and woodwork sculptures that build upon natural forms.
I am endlessly captivated by the intricate patterns and forms found in the natural world, and most recently I have created a series of sculptural wooden forms using hand-carving techniques that recall the shapes of seedpods or the movement of ripples. I am also concerned with the use of sustainable materials, and where possible I like to source materials such as clay directly from the ground.
